　　为弘扬民族传统艺术，繁荣相声事业，由中央电视台主办、中国曲艺家协会协办的“第六届CCTV电视相声大赛”一方面承担着为相声界发掘新人新作、输送新鲜血液的重要作用，与此同时也将为2013年中央电视台春节联欢晚会输送优秀作品及演员。CCTV电视相声大赛(2001年、2002年、2006年、2008年、2010年、2012年)是中央电视台主办的一项传统电视文艺赛事，经过前五届的创新发展，已成为我国相声界两年一度的隆重盛典，是目前国内影响范围最广的相声界聚会。过去五届大赛为相声界发掘了周炜、贾玲、白凯南、陈寒柏、逗笑、逗乐、郭金杰等观众喜爱的相声新秀，给相声艺术注入了新鲜的活力，同时也有大批量的富有时代气息的优秀作品问世。本次大赛的主持人锁定为央视名嘴李咏、朱军和美女主持王冠。大赛的决赛于2012年9月17日起每晚8点在中央电视台综艺频道直播。
