　　大唐盛世，锦绣繁华。在造船业发达的滨海小镇常乐，人类女子陆漓女扮男装混入造船厂，希望能在船厂大展身手，实现自己扬帆远航的梦想，鲛人王子吴居蓝也带着神秘任务来到船厂，两人不打不相识，产生了纯洁的爱情。随着陆漓和吴居蓝的相爱，两人背后的阴谋也逐渐浮出了水面，陆漓在亲情和爱情之间痛苦挣扎。最终，陆漓和吴居蓝用爱化解了仇恨，人类和鲛人终于和平共处，同享盛世繁华。

　　故事主要围绕女主人公赵雪坎坷的人生际遇展开，在经历了丈夫失踪、胎儿意外流产等人生重大的打击后，她依然坚持自己的信念，守护着亲情和爱情。
　　杨童舒饰演的赵雪本是一个温柔善良的幸福小女人，不会做家务，也不为家里的任何事操心。然而在遭遇了丈夫遇难、胎儿流产之后，她不得不只身撑起整个家庭，独自忍受着孤独与苦楚，不屈服于命运的意念使原本柔弱的她变得愈发坚韧。 　　赵雪尽管一直坚信丈夫尚在人世，但是在面临林刚(郝平饰演)无微不至的关爱时，内心不免产生犹豫和徘徊，深陷于这场不是三角的“三角恋”中。
　　剧中，杨童舒在丈夫遇难、孩子流产的打击后，坚强地承担起了整个家庭，同时也收获了周杰的爱情。
　　该剧是专门讲述护工故事，但是剧中的小人物并非以人们普遍认为同情的心态来描写，也不是通过故事介绍护工这个工种。而是剧中人物身份围绕护工开始的，不过多体现他们的工作，而是表现他们的生活和情感，通过一系列的情感和人物关系脉络表现他们的喜怒哀乐。也表现一种积极地人生观，希望通过小人物的生活让人们共同感受平凡人生中的感动。
