　　故事发生在上世纪三十年代的上海，彼时，无线电台刚刚出现在大众的眼中，充满了新鲜感，随着无线电的普及，私人无线电台如同雨后春笋一般的成立了。任浩铭（戴向宇 饰）想要建立自己的电台，却缺少必备的专业知识，于是他向曾经在学校里学习过无线电专业的女孩阮清恬（吴映洁 饰）求助，在后者的热情帮助之下，任浩铭最终实现了自己的梦想。
　　一场意外的发生让任浩铭和阮清恬之间产生了误会，对于阮清恬来说非常重要的传家之宝流苏耳环被任浩铭给拿走了。在夺回流苏耳环的过程中，阮清恬和任浩铭之间的矛盾渐渐烟消云散，他们亦发现了彼此灵魂中的闪光点，两人的距离慢慢拉近。

　　Almost a year has passed since Ellen Parsons left Hewes and Associates. She is now working in the District Attorney's office and is dealing with a fairly important drug case, trying to get a dealer to reveal the identity of his supplier. In a flash-forward 6 months into the future, Patty Hewes is in a serious accident when another car broadsides her vehicle in an intersection. 　　阴间见习判官（谢天华饰）因不满庄玉雪（陈妙瑛饰）、方家希（梅小惠饰）的命运安排，擅自更改了二人的生死册，闯下弥天大祸逃往到阳间，恰遇戴耀东（张达明饰）车祸身亡。戴耀东弥留之间借尾还魂，从此改变了戴耀东一生……

　　能够成为一名对社会有用的人一直都是张志杰（梁朝伟 饰）的理想，长大成人后，充满了正义感的他选择成为了一名警察。在与女友谢颖之（张曼玉 饰）分手后，志杰接受了林佩贤（黄造时 饰）的追求，两人走到了一起。
　　倪峰（刘青云 饰）是志杰的师兄，一次意外中，由于志杰的疏忽，倪峰遭遇 了车祸身负残疾，自暴自弃的他离开了警队，淡出了众人的视线。志杰有一同父异母的兄弟名为家明（戴志卫 饰），与志杰是同行，最近，家明因被卷入一宗诈骗案之中而遭到了追杀，杀手不是别人，正是消失已久的倪峰。家明死了，凶器竟然是志杰的配枪，志杰因此亦被卷入案中。为了证明自己的清白，志杰开始了对案件的调查。

　　该剧翻拍自延相昊导演的同名处女作，首部受邀戛纳放映惊悚动画片。
