　　乐天开朗的记者阿立（林家栋 饰）和他的家人过着平凡而快乐的生活。然而，一宗钻石失窃案让他突然陷入了麻烦和困扰之中。阿立的同乡阿井（林保怡 饰）从内地来到香港投靠阿立，他声称钻石被一名隐形人偷走。阿井找来女警阿岚（陈妙瑛 饰），但阿立担心阿岚会被欺骗，于是二人一起展开调查。不久，阿立被对手杂志的编辑阿图（陈启泰 饰）设计陷害，被指控制造假新闻。
　　就在此时，阿立意外喝下了隐形药水，变成了隐形人，他利用这个机会四处搜寻证据来洗清自己的冤屈。期间，他遇到了阿图的女友——记者阿颖（陈芷菁 饰）。由于阿颖暂时失明，她没有察觉到阿立的变化，他们相处下来成为了好朋友。

　　本剧改编自Sarah Perry的同名小说，讲述刚丧偶的Cora Seaborne（Claire Danes 饰），从伦敦搬去了埃塞克斯郡，调查关于一条神秘之蛇的传闻。Cora与村里的牧师Will Ransome（Tom Hiddleston 饰）建立起了意料之外的纽带，但当悲剧来临时，当地人指控她吸引了这种神秘生物。
