　　在本系列节目中，我们将为大家介绍这些巨兽进化出其体形特质的原因，以及它们借此维持生存的各种奇特方式。同时，我们还将回溯历史，探寻那些曾在地球上生存的史前动物，探索一个时常被忽略的问题，那就是为什么体形越大的动物有时候往往越脆弱，越容易受到各种因素影响从而走向灭绝。
　　我们将跟随生物学家派屈克 (Patrick Aryee) 前往美洲、澳大利亚、亚洲以及非洲，寻找生活在不同大洲的诸如棕熊、巨獭的巨兽，并将它们与那些淹没在历史长河中的史前巨兽作对比，了解这些神奇动物面临的种种新时代的生存挑战。
