　　British police officer DC Miranda Blake is in Mallorca to escort a known criminal back to the UK. 　　六十年代香港，经营皓月珠宝店的富商朱兆昌（刘江饰）膝下只有三个女儿，长女朱碧云（商天娥饰）、次女朱碧霞（宣萱饰）及三女儿朱碧霖（陈美诗饰）。兆昌一直希望勤奋又聪明的碧霞继承家业，但碧霞不理父亲的期望，反而离家出走。兆昌只好将碧云嫁给自家伙计何祥兴（林保怡饰），让其协助打理家族生意。而兆昌的外甥洪耀生（陶大宇饰）一直对兆昌的家业虎视眈眈，更利用职务之便以权谋私。
　　世事无常，碧霞的丈夫身故，兆昌因肝癌去世。碧云与碧霞共同管理珠宝店。然而觊觎朱家财产已久的耀生，居然与苏丽嫦（滕丽名饰）合谋，谎称丽嫦为兆昌情妇。为夺家业，他更不惜挑拨离间三姐妹的感情，三人视如水火。四分五裂的朱家，频临家破人亡的惨状。此时，朱家三姐妹才恍然觉悟，终于团结起来，联手作出大反击。

　　该剧改编自朝井麻由美的同名随笔作品，以“享受单身生活”为主题，江口饰演探索“单身活”的出版社员工五月女恵，“单身活”意为“积极地享受个人时间的活动”。在剧中五月将只身一人去到各种地方，享受珍贵的个人时间。
