　　20世纪后半叶，接二连三的政治运动以及长达十年的文革动乱，令多少人的命运发生翻天覆地的变化，也由此引发多少令人唏嘘叹惋的人间悲剧。著名考古学家唐忠奇（巫刚饰）上山下乡时曾和安敏之（奚美娟饰）相知相恋，并生下一个女儿。而为了返城唐不惜欺骗爱人，带着女儿决然返回，并和罗英（张凯丽饰）结婚。此去经年，二人的女儿唐棠（高露饰）已成长为小有名气的歌星，为了照顾唐棠的儿子京京，此前全然不知情的安敏之以保姆身份进入唐家。母子对面相见却不能相认，面对眼前这个颐指气使、专横跋扈的女儿，安敏之的心情可想而知。
