　　本剧集讲述香港海关特遣队队员在事业上和生活中的点滴故事。在事业上独立果敢的海关特遣队监督吕馥明（汪明荃饰）已投身海关二十多载，年过五十岁的她仍对爱执着，相信至死不渝的爱情存在。出版集团主席涂令山（李修贤饰）感情专一内敛，向不信情。海关督察林志刚（王喜饰）自小受父亲严厉鞭策，性格急进。立志投身海关的特遣队新成员冯满芬（宣萱饰），做事勇往直前，对人生充满理想。在事业上，这些特遣队精英们屡立奇功，而在情感道路上，他们的生活也遭遇了爱的惊涛骇浪。

　　故事讲述两大高手司马纵横（刘江）与洪震（罗乐林）决战，横打败震，废其武功，将他送往无我岛教化。皇极神算姚康节算出横必会称霸，但祸害武林，横恐他泄秘，要杀他灭口。节抱其女平逃至其船上，与震同被送往无我岛，途中遇风暴沉船，横以为眾人已死而安心，实则眾人已逃往一孤岛。
　　七年后，平（梁小冰）长大，回中原向横报仇，四出散播预言图，令横忧心，横下令捕散谣者，市井小子骆风（郭富城）无辜被牵连，为要保命，风投靠红袍侠使者兀述，因而被方靖（戴誌卫）司马秋惜（刘秀萍）夫妇误为歹人加以追刹，横为从风口中查出真相，安排他到山庄内接受感化。
　　节另有一子力行（林文龙），由朱皇抚养成人，行天生魔性，为名利权力，渐入魔道。而风则有连番奇遇，武功大进，且与平、赫连勃勃（袁洁莹）及凌湘（蔡少芬）展出一段多角恋，勃父蒙逊（梁家仁）则爱上湘母，后湘因得不到风爱，与行同流合污，祸害武林；风、平、勃则要联手对抗行、湘，展开连场恶斗……

　　一对孪生兄弟王名成(刘青云)与王利就(周星驰)自小失散。名成与母相依为命，利就则为老粗鲁辉(梁家仁)收养，改名为鲁细。成是电影圈的新进导演，为人精明有绰头，敢作敢为；细则为通天经纪，性格爽朗具正义感。机缘巧合下两人相遇并共住一屋，但却不知大家的真正身份。细钟情于童年好友方嘉楠(陈秀雯)，嘉楠是名成的下属，对名成心仪已久，兄弟两人更闹出一段纠缠不清的三角恋爱。鲁辉认识了嘉楠的阿姨卓龄，她为人高贵具教养，与辉分属两个世界，但龄欣赏他为人老实忠诚，最后与他展开了一段浪漫恋情。兄弟两人最后终于相认，但因性格各异而心存隔膜。后名成与友人合伙营商，却被骗而惹上官非，患难中细明白到兄弟情之珍贵，与众人共施计策，营救胞兄。

　　年迈的老人宝禄（刘江 饰）膝下有四子女，然而他们各自散落在天涯，聚少离多。宝禄离奇去世，留下了一道奇怪的遗嘱，要求四子女必须在旧楼单位同居九个月，才能够将其变卖。就这样，大哥宝欢（欧阳震华 饰）、二妹宝欣（滕丽名 饰）、三弟宝愉（张颖康 饰）和四弟宝怡（张彦博 饰）纷纷回到了久违的故乡，重新过起了同在一个屋檐下的生活。

　　本剧是ZDF电视台纪念包豪斯成立100周年的献礼之作，由Anna Maria Mühe和August Diehl领衔主演。本剧将目光投向了包豪斯在魏玛成立之初的那段时光，以Walter Gropius与女学生Dörte Helm之间的情感纠葛为切入点，展现了包豪斯立校之初风雨飘摇的那段历史，以及魏玛时期的德国风貌。
