《西寧國宅》呈現蔡明亮對於早期社宅的回首凝視，純粹以畫面紀錄將逝的社會場景及流竄的城市謠言，更回看早期作品《海角天涯》與《洞》的歲月痕跡。西寧國宅面臨拆遷之際，如今還住在那的上百戶人家，有什麽想法？有什麽感受？是捨還是不捨？蔡明亮作為一個與西寧國宅有些許因緣的影像創作者，只想好好地再看她一眼。

西班牙北部阿斯图里亚斯地区有着500多年历史的口述传统，由民谣、民间传说等组成，靠当地妇女凭记忆代代口口相传。随着时代发展、移民和价值观的变迁，这一经典文化不得不迎来最后一代继承者：康斯坦丁娜和艾琳。玛塔·拉拉纳自编自导的第二部长片，模糊剧情片与纪录片的界限，通过西班牙知名音乐人劳尔·雷弗瑞追寻口述传统的视角，走进这两位继承人的生活现状，用黑白影像保留下这一“看不见、听得着”的历史文化。口述民谣贯穿全片，在云遮雾罩的山谷美景映衬下，平添了几分空灵厚重感。
