该剧本改编自洛朗·珀蒂曼金(Laurent Petitmangin)的小说《你需要什么》(What You Need from the Night)，讲述了一个植根于洛林的家庭故事，讲述了一位铁路工人父亲和他的两个儿子在母亲去世后的故事。
